fat loss

AOD-9604

Also known as hGH fragment 176-191

Growth hormone fragment marketed for fat metabolism.

Medical status: Not approved as a medicine; failed as an obesity drug in trials.

Also commonly used for (off-label)

  • Localised fat metabolism
  • Add-on to fat-loss protocols

Off-label and research uses are what people report, not approved indications. Talk to a clinician before using any of them.

How it's taken (route)

Documented dose
250–500 mcg
Typical frequency
Once or twice daily, fasted (first dose on waking)
Cycle
12 weeks on, 4 off
Half-life
~30 minutes
Common vial sizes
2 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg
Regulatory status
Not approved as a drug; some food-supplement status claims.

Dose on a U-100 syringe (250–500 mcg)

VialBAC waterDraw
2 mg1.5 mL19–38 units
2 mg2 mL25–50 units
5 mg2.5 mL13–25 units
5 mg3 mL15–30 units
10 mg2.5 mL6.3–13 units
10 mg3 mL7.5–15 units

On a U-100 syringe, 100 units = 1 mL, and the syringe holds 100 units total. Most people keep a single subcutaneous injection under about 50 units — bigger volumes are usually mixed stronger (less water) or split into two shots. Only mixes that fit in one syringe are shown. Always double-check with the reconstitution calculator.

What it does

A trimmed-down piece of the growth hormone molecule. It keeps the part that tells fat cells to release stored fat, but leaves out the part that raises blood sugar or makes tissue grow. What people look into it for: • Burning stored body fat and slowing new fat storage • Fat loss without the appetite, water retention or blood-sugar changes seen with full growth hormone • Joint and cartilage comfort (early research only) Human weight-loss trials have been modest, so expectations should stay realistic.

Mechanism

C-terminal hGH fragment thought to stimulate lipolysis and inhibit lipogenesis.

Storage — lyophilisedwhat's this?

Refrigerate 2-8C, protect from light.

Storage — reconstitutedwhat's this?

Refrigerate 2-8C, use within ~28 days.

Reconstitution noteswhat's this?

Common mix: 5 mg vial + 2.5 ml bacteriostatic water = 20 mcg per unit, so 250 mcg is about 13 units and 300 mcg is 15 units. Short 20-day-on / 10-day-off blocks and longer 90-day runs are both used.

Stacks well with

Popular combinations reported in the community and research literature — not a recommendation. Adding peptides multiplies side-effect risk; check with a clinician.

Commonly reported side effects

  • Injection-site reactions
  • Headache

Contraindications noted

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

Research notes

Human trials failed to show meaningful weight loss versus placebo.
