Selank

Also known as TP-7

Anxiolytic peptide analogue of tuftsin.

Medical status: Approved in Russia as an anti-anxiety medication.

Also commonly used for (off-label)

  • Everyday anxiety and stress
  • Calm focus without sedation

Off-label and research uses are what people report, not approved indications. Talk to a clinician before using any of them.

How it's taken

  • Nasal spray

sprayed into the nose and absorbed through the nasal lining — no needles

  • Subcutaneous injection

a small shot into the fat just under the skin (belly, thigh, or love handle)

Typical frequency
Once daily for focus; twice daily (morning and afternoon) for anxiety
Cycle
6 weeks on, 3 off
Half-life
~30 minutes
Common vial sizes
5 mg, 10 mg
Regulatory status
Approved in Russia only; unapproved elsewhere.

Dose on a U-100 syringe (250–500 mcg)

VialBAC waterDraw
5 mg2.5 mL13–25 units
5 mg3 mL15–30 units
10 mg2.5 mL6.3–13 units
10 mg3 mL7.5–15 units

On a U-100 syringe, 100 units = 1 mL, and the syringe holds 100 units total. Most people keep a single subcutaneous injection under about 50 units — bigger volumes are usually mixed stronger (less water) or split into two shots. Only mixes that fit in one syringe are shown. Always double-check with the reconstitution calculator.

What it does

A peptide developed from a natural immune fragment (tuftsin) and used in Russia for anxiety. It nudges GABA and serotonin activity and raises BDNF, a growth factor for brain cells — calming without sedation or dependence. What people look into it for: • Everyday anxiety and stress without feeling drowsy or foggy • Clearer thinking and better focus under pressure • Steadier mood and better stress resilience • Sleep quality in people whose sleep is disrupted by worry It is usually taken as a nasal spray. Human research exists but is mostly Russian and small.

Mechanism

Modulates GABA and enkephalin systems and raises BDNF.

Storage — lyophilisedwhat's this?

Refrigerate 2-8C, protect from light.

Storage — reconstitutedwhat's this?

Refrigerate 2-8C, use within ~28 days.

Reconstitution noteswhat's this?

Common mix: 5 mg vial + 2.5 ml bacteriostatic water = 20 mcg per unit, so 250 mcg is about 6 units and 500 mcg is about 11 units. Nasal sprays are the other common route and act faster.

Stacks well with

Popular combinations reported in the community and research literature — not a recommendation. Adding peptides multiplies side-effect risk; check with a clinician.

Commonly reported side effects

  • Nasal irritation
  • Drowsiness
  • Headache

Contraindications noted

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

Research notes

Russian clinical use; limited peer-reviewed Western data.
