BPC-157

Also known as Body Protection Compound 157, PL 14736

Gastric pentadecapeptide studied for soft-tissue and gut repair.

Medical status: Not approved as a medicine; research chemical status in most countries.

Also commonly used for (off-label)

  • Tendon, ligament and muscle recovery
  • Gut and stomach lining complaints
  • Post-injury and post-surgery recovery

Off-label and research uses are what people report, not approved indications. Talk to a clinician before using any of them.

How it's taken

Availability varies by supplier — injectable is the most commonly researched form.

Documented dose
250–750 mcg
Typical frequency
1–3 times daily, 5 days on / 2 days off
Cycle
8 weeks on, 4 off
Half-life
~4 hours (subcutaneous, estimated)
Common vial sizes
5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg
Regulatory status
Not approved for human use; research chemical in most jurisdictions.

Dose on a U-100 syringe (250–750 mcg)

VialBAC waterDraw
5 mg2.5 mL13–38 units
5 mg3 mL15–45 units
10 mg2.5 mL6.3–19 units
10 mg3 mL7.5–22 units
20 mg3 mL3.8–11 units
20 mg5 mL6.3–19 units

On a U-100 syringe, 100 units = 1 mL, and the syringe holds 100 units total. Most people keep a single subcutaneous injection under about 50 units — bigger volumes are usually mixed stronger (less water) or split into two shots. Only mixes that fit in one syringe are shown. Always double-check with the reconstitution calculator.

What it does

A stable copy of a protective peptide found naturally in stomach fluid. Its main reputation is speeding up repair in tissue that normally heals slowly, and calming inflammation where it is applied or injected. What people look into it for: • Tendon, ligament and muscle injuries that are slow to heal • Gut problems such as ulcers, leaky gut, IBD-type inflammation and NSAID damage • Joint pain and post-surgical or post-injury recovery • Better blood-vessel growth into healing tissue, which brings in oxygen and nutrients • Some reports of improved mood and nerve recovery The animal evidence is broad and consistent; controlled human trials are still limited.

Mechanism

Appears to upregulate VEGF-driven angiogenesis and growth-factor receptor expression at injury sites; modulates the nitric-oxide system.

Storage — lyophilisedwhat's this?

Refrigerate 2-8C; stable at room temperature short term, protect from light.

Storage — reconstitutedwhat's this?

Refrigerate 2-8C, use within ~28 days.

Reconstitution noteswhat's this?

Common mix: 10 mg vial + 2.5 ml bacteriostatic water = 40 mcg per unit, so a 250 mcg dose is about 6 units and 750 mcg is about 18 units. A 20 mg vial with the same 2.5 ml gives 80 mcg per unit (250 mcg ≈ 3 units).

Stacks well with

Popular combinations reported in the community and research literature — not a recommendation. Adding peptides multiplies side-effect risk; check with a clinician.

Commonly reported side effects

  • Injection-site irritation
  • Lightheadedness
  • Nausea

Contraindications noted

  • Active malignancy (theoretical, via angiogenesis)
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

Research notes

Almost all evidence is preclinical rodent data; no large human trials published.
