Kisspeptin-10

Also known as KP-10, Metastin 45-54

Upstream regulator of the reproductive hormone axis.

Medical status: Not approved as a medicine; used in fertility research.

Also commonly used for (off-label)

  • Testosterone and hormone-axis support
  • Libido and fertility research

Off-label and research uses are what people report, not approved indications. Talk to a clinician before using any of them.

How it's taken (route)

Documented dose
200–500 mcg
Typical frequency
Every other day, or about twice weekly
Cycle
4 weeks on, 4 off
Half-life
~4 minutes
Common vial sizes
5 mg, 10 mg
Regulatory status
Not approved for human use.

Dose on a U-100 syringe (200–500 mcg)

VialBAC waterDraw
5 mg2.5 mL10–25 units
5 mg3 mL12–30 units
10 mg2.5 mL5.0–13 units
10 mg3 mL6.0–15 units

On a U-100 syringe, 100 units = 1 mL, and the syringe holds 100 units total. Most people keep a single subcutaneous injection under about 50 units — bigger volumes are usually mixed stronger (less water) or split into two shots. Only mixes that fit in one syringe are shown. Always double-check with the reconstitution calculator.

What it does

A signalling peptide that sits at the very top of the reproductive hormone chain. It tells the brain to release LH and FSH, which in turn tell the testes or ovaries to make testosterone or oestrogen. What people look into it for: • Supporting the body's own testosterone production rather than replacing it • Fertility testing and treatment research • Libido and sexual motivation — it also acts on emotional and reward areas of the brain • Restarting hormone signalling after suppression Effects are short-lived because it clears from the body quickly.

Mechanism

Stimulates GnRH neurons via KISS1R, increasing LH and FSH.

Storage — lyophilisedwhat's this?

Refrigerate 2-8C, protect from light.

Storage — reconstitutedwhat's this?

Refrigerate 2-8C, use within ~28 days.

Reconstitution noteswhat's this?

Common mix: 5 mg vial + 1.5 ml bacteriostatic water = 33 mcg per unit, so 200 mcg is 6 units and 500 mcg is 15 units. Dosing too often causes desensitisation, so twice a week is the usual sweet spot.

Stacks well with

Popular combinations reported in the community and research literature — not a recommendation. Adding peptides multiplies side-effect risk; check with a clinician.

Commonly reported side effects

  • Flushing
  • Headache
  • Nausea

Contraindications noted

  • Hormone-sensitive cancers
  • Pregnancy

Research notes

Mostly used as a research probe of the HPG axis.
