DSIP

Also known as Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide

Nonapeptide investigated for sleep regulation.

Medical status: Not approved as a medicine.

Also commonly used for (off-label)

  • Trouble falling or staying asleep
  • Stress and recovery protocols

Off-label and research uses are what people report, not approved indications. Talk to a clinician before using any of them.

How it's taken (route)

Documented dose
100–700 mcg
Typical frequency
Once nightly, 30–60 minutes before bed
Cycle
8 weeks on, 4 off
Half-life
~7-15 minutes
Common vial sizes
2 mg, 5 mg
Regulatory status
Not approved for human use.

Dose on a U-100 syringe (100–700 mcg)

VialBAC waterDraw
2 mg1 mL5.0–35 units
5 mg2.5 mL5.0–35 units
5 mg3 mL6.0–42 units

On a U-100 syringe, 100 units = 1 mL, and the syringe holds 100 units total. Most people keep a single subcutaneous injection under about 50 units — bigger volumes are usually mixed stronger (less water) or split into two shots. Only mixes that fit in one syringe are shown. Always double-check with the reconstitution calculator.

What it does

Short for Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide. It is thought to help the brain shift into deeper, slower-wave sleep and to blunt the body's stress response. What people look into it for: • Falling asleep faster and waking less during the night • More deep, restorative sleep rather than just more hours • Feeling calmer and more resilient under stress • Some reports of reduced chronic pain and easier withdrawal from stimulants Human research is old and small, and results vary a lot between individuals.

Mechanism

Poorly characterised; may modulate delta-wave sleep and corticotropin release.

Storage — lyophilisedwhat's this?

Refrigerate 2-8C, protect from light.

Storage — reconstitutedwhat's this?

Refrigerate 2-8C, use within ~28 days.

Reconstitution noteswhat's this?

Common mix: 5 mg vial + 2.5 ml bacteriostatic water = 20 mcg per unit, so 100 mcg is 5 units, 300 mcg is 15 units and 700 mcg is 35 units. Step up by 100 mcg at a time.

Stacks well with

Popular combinations reported in the community and research literature — not a recommendation. Adding peptides multiplies side-effect risk; check with a clinician.

Commonly reported side effects

  • Grogginess
  • Headache
  • Vivid dreams

Contraindications noted

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

Research notes

Evidence is old and inconsistent; effect sizes unclear.
