AHK-Cu
Also known as AHK-Cu peptide, Ala-His-Lys-Cu, AHK copper peptide
Copper peptide studied for hair growth and skin regeneration.
How it's taken (route)

- Documented dose
- 1–3 mg
- Typical frequency
- Once daily
- Cycle
- 12 weeks on, 4 off
- Half-life
- Short (minutes to hours); effects are cumulative with repeated dosing
- Common vial sizes
- 100 mg
- Regulatory status
- Research use only
Dose on a U-100 syringe (1–3 mg)
| Vial | BAC water | Draw |
|---|---|---|
| 100 mg | 3 mL | 3.0–9.0 units |
| 100 mg | 5 mL | 5.0–15 units |
On a U-100 syringe, 100 units = 1 mL, and the syringe holds 100 units total. Most people keep a single subcutaneous injection under about 50 units — bigger volumes are usually mixed stronger (less water) or split into two shots. Only mixes that fit in one syringe are shown. Always double-check with the reconstitution calculator.
What it does
AHK-Cu is a copper-binding tripeptide (Ala-His-Lys) researched primarily for stimulating hair follicle growth, improving skin elasticity, and supporting collagen production.
Mechanism
AHK-Cu binds copper ions and is studied for its effects on dermal papilla cells, where it appears to promote hair follicle elongation and reduce follicle apoptosis. Like GHK-Cu, it also influences collagen synthesis and antioxidant enzyme activity in skin tissue.
Storage — lyophilisedwhat's this?
Store lyophilized powder at -20C (freezer) for long-term stability, protected from light and moisture.
Storage — reconstitutedwhat's this?
Once reconstituted, refrigerate at 2-8C and use within 30 days.
Reconstitution noteswhat's this?
Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water. Copper peptides degrade with repeated freeze-thaw; avoid vigorous shaking and let the solution dissolve gently.
Commonly stacked with
- GHK-Cu
- BPC-157
Commonly reported side effects
- Injection site redness or irritation
- Transient itching at the injection site
Contraindications noted
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Known copper metabolism disorders (e.g. Wilson disease)
Research notes
Most AHK-Cu data comes from in-vitro and animal hair-growth studies; human data is limited. Often compared with GHK-Cu, with AHK-Cu considered the more hair-focused analog.
